Remarks

small to medium sized pectinid (30-50 mm), often with beautiful colour combination of white with purple, red or orange markings
the ears on anterior and posterior side have 4 - 5 ribs, the other species of this genus have no ribs on the ears

sometimes confused with the other members of the genus Annachlamys:

	*Annachlamys reevei* valves more convex then the other members of the genus size between 30 - 50 mm wider then high 3-4 ribs on both ears
	*Annachlamys flabellata* colouration inside is white with bright red dots, sometimes only white colourfull shell less convex interspace (I) between the ribs (R) larger then with A. reevei left (upper) valve slightly higher then the right (lower) valve no ribs on the ears
	*Annachlamys kuhnholtzi* colouration inside is white with yellow to yellowbrown marks mostly coloured white with brown more circular then A. reevei only found in the Eastern part of Australia to New Caledonia no ribs on the ears
	*Annachlamys striatula* colouration inside is white with yellow very colourful with a wide variety shades of red, orange, yellow, purple and brown the ribs near the margin are almost flat usually bigger then A. reevei no ribs on the ears
